Bulk mulch delivery across metro Atlanta

Not every job needs an install crew. Homeowners with the time and the wheelbarrow, landscapers who already have labor lined up, and larger properties spreading mulch in phases all use bulk delivery to get fresh material without paying for a crew they do not need. We deliver by the cubic yard, dumped at a location on your property that you choose — driveway, side yard, or a specific staging spot for a crew.

The material is the same we use on every mulch installation job: natural pine bark, natural hardwood, or dyed black, brown or red hardwood, loaded and driven to your address the same day, not scooped off a pile that has been sitting in a yard drying out and losing color for weeks.

How delivery-only pricing works

Delivered-only material runs less per yard than installed mulch because you are not paying for spreading, edging or cleanup labor. Pricing scales down as order size goes up, since the truck trip is largely a fixed cost regardless of whether you order 3 yards or 15.

Order sizeTypical rangeWhat moves the price
Natural pine bark or hardwood$35 – $45/cu ydOrder volume and drop distance
Dyed black, brown or red mulch$45 – $55/cu ydOrder volume and dye grade
Pine straw, per bale (delivery only)$5 – $7/baleBale count
Small orders under 3 cu yd+$25 – $40 flatTrip minimum applies below 3 yards
Minimum orderBulk delivery has a practical minimum of about 3 cubic yards to make the trip worthwhile. Smaller quantities carry a flat trip charge on top of material cost — ask us for the exact number on your call, or consider full installation instead, which has no such minimum since labor is already part of the price.

What to expect on delivery day

  • Confirm the drop zone in advance — driveway, curb, or a specific spot in the yard. A dump truck needs a clear, level path with enough clearance for the truck bed to raise.
  • Have a tarp or plywood down if you are protecting a paved surface from staining, especially with dyed mulch on light-colored concrete.
  • Plan to spread it within a few days, especially in summer heat. A large pile left sitting can start composting from the inside and lose color faster than mulch spread flat.
  • We call ahead with a delivery window, typically a 2-hour arrival estimate on the scheduled day.

Delivery-only vs. full installation

Delivery-only saves money if you already have the labor and the day free. The tradeoff is that you take on bed clearing, edging and spreading yourself, and a rushed DIY spread that has to be redone later usually costs more in wasted material than the labor would have. For beds that need real prep first — weed clearing, grading, edge repair — see landscape bed edging and prep, since mulch dumped over an unprepped bed rarely holds up regardless of who spreads it.

Commercial and bulk orders

For landscapers, HOAs and larger properties ordering by the truckload, we offer volume pricing and can schedule recurring deliveries ahead of a seasonal mulch push. See commercial and HOA mulch for scheduled program pricing.

Questions

Bulk Mulch Delivery FAQs

Natural pine bark or hardwood runs $35 to $45 per cubic yard delivered. Dyed black, brown or red mulch runs $45 to $55. Orders under about 3 cubic yards carry a flat trip charge on top of material cost since the truck trip is close to a fixed cost regardless of order size.

Practically, yes — about 3 cubic yards. Below that, a flat trip fee applies on top of material cost to make the delivery worthwhile. If you need less than that, full installation may actually cost about the same once labor is factored in, and you get a spread, edged bed instead of a pile.

One cubic yard covers roughly 100 square feet at 3 inches deep, or 160 square feet at 2 inches. Measure your bed square footage and we can calculate the exact yardage on your call, or see our mulch coverage guide on the blog for the full math.

Wherever you tell us, as long as a dump truck can reach it with a clear, reasonably level path — usually a driveway or curb. We cannot dump directly onto grass we would damage or through a gate too narrow for the truck; in those cases we discuss the best staging spot on your call.

Yes, we deliver natural pine bark, natural hardwood, and dyed black, brown or red mulch. Dyed material costs more per yard due to the colorant process, same as with installed dyed mulch.

Most orders scheduled within 24 to 48 hours, often next-day if you call before mid-morning. Large orders over about 15 cubic yards may need a day or two of lead time to schedule the right truck.

Dyed mulch, especially while damp, can leave a temporary stain on light-colored concrete if it sits directly on the surface for an extended period. We recommend a tarp or plywood barrier under the pile if you are concerned, and spreading it within a few days minimizes any risk.

Yes. Some customers take delivery for a phased DIY project and later call us back for installation on the beds they have not gotten to yet. Just mention the prior delivery when you call so we can quote installation labor only.

Yes, and we offer volume pricing for larger truckload orders. See commercial and HOA mulch for scheduled program details, or call to discuss a one-time bulk delivery for a larger property.
